What to do if your car is clamped.

If enforcement agents do not have a signed order from a court giving them authority to seize the vehicle, then attaching a clamp to a vehicle without lawful authority is a criminal offence under Section 54 Protection of Freedoms Act [2012].
You can call the court to ask them to confirm whether or not any orders, judgements, or warrants are listed on the Register of Judgements in your name.
If they confirm that there isn’t a registered order, you can insist that the clamp is removed, informing them that you will assume no liability for damage caused if you are forced to remove it.
Make sure you record EVERYTHING for evidence for a potential future court case (and remain calm and professional throughout for just that reason).
If they have lawful authority, they cannot take vehicles that are owned by a finance company (HP), are subject to a Motability scheme, owned by a person NOT named within the order, or if the vehicle has a market value of less than £1,350 ✌️❤️✌️
